Tirupur: The Government Medical College in Tirupur that is to be inaugurated through video conferencing by PM Modi will have modern labs, 12 operation theatres.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating 11 medical colleges in Tamil Nadu, and the college that is to be inaugurated in Tirupur is constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.337-crore covering an area of 11.48-acres. The PM will inaugurate the building through video conferencing.
The hospital will have a 600-bed facility with a ground floor and 5 additional storeys, 12 operating theatres, modern laboratories.
The college building will comprise a ground floor and 6 floors, classroom, laboratory, and library facility for 8 departments, and an auditorium with 1,000 seating capacity.
Student hostels, staff quarters, quarters for medical officers, and playground facilities are made available in the three blocks.
Union Minister of State L Murugan, Tamil Nadu Information and Publicity Minister M P Saminathan, Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Tirupur District Collector Vinit and Dean of Government Medical College Murugesan were on the dais at the video gallery set up in the college.
