Police have registered a case and are investigating from various angles as to who the two deceased were, what nationality they belonged to, whether they died after being hit by a train or did they commit suicide by crossing the tracks.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Railway Police has received information that a 35-year-old youth was hit and killed by a train near the Coimbatore Podanur railway track.
Following this, Railway Sub-Inspector Murugan and the police rushed to the spot and examined the body of the deceased youth. The body was later recovered and sent to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy.
Similarly, a 65-year-old man was hit and killed by a train near the Sai Baba temple on the Coimbatore-Peelamedu railway track. His body was recovered and sent for autopsy.
