Coimbatore: 10 members of the Coimbatore District Assembly jointly submitted various petitions to the District Collector.
The following demands were mentioned in the petition:
1. The Coimbatore District administration along with the Corporation administration should spray disinfectants on the streets.
2. Authorities must ensure that buses are sprayed with disinfectants.
3. Steps should be taken to set up additional Coronavirus wards in Government and private hospitals and raise the number of oxygen beds.
4. Appropriate action should be taken to make medicines that are in short supply.
5. Action should be taken to inform the public about the details of vacant beds in Government and private hospitals.
6. Measures should be taken to make oxygen availability available in Government and private hospitals
7. Measures should be taken to increase the number of ambulances.
8. Passengers should be checked at Coimbatore district borders and airports and then allowed into the district.
9. There were employees working in large factories and spinning mills in Coimbatore district and factories should ensure RT-PCR tests are done.
10. A monitoring committee should be set up and monitored to prevent overcharging for Coronavirus treatment in private hospitals.
11. The Corporation administration should take action to create awareness among people in public places.
12. Roadside dwellers should take steps to provide food to the needy during the complete curfew.
13. Execute corporation contract work ought to be cancelled on a wartime basis by the Corporation administration.
14. The District administration and the Forest Department should take immediate action to nab the leopard roaming in Kuniamuthur area.
15. Should take action to meet the demand for wage hikes for power loom workers in Coimbatore and Tirupur districts.
