The family members of the school boy who died from injuries sustained in a clash with his fellow students here, refused to accept the deceased’s corpse, were on a road roko and sought action against school administration.
Coimbatore: The family members of the dead schoolboy who refused to accept his body went to stage a protest in Coimbatore on Tuesday.
Students from two different sections of grade 11 studying in the Alanthurai Government School had a clash last Saturday, in which one of the boys died on Monday due to severe injuries. The relatives of the boy blocked roads in front of the Government Hospital and refused to accept the body of the student.
Two former students of the school were stabbed and three students studying in 11th standard were seriously injured. The injured students were admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. A student who was admitted to intensive care succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested two 17-year-old students in connection with the incident.
There was a stir as the family went on a road roko at the Coimbatore Government Hospital, refusing to accept Nandakumar's body.
They were protesting against the school administration for not giving proper information about the dispute between the students.
The parents and relatives of the student protested demanding action against the school administration and demanding that the government ensures that such incidents do not happen in the future.
The crowd was dispersed off after a negotiation with the student's relatives.
