Arjun Sampath calls DMK as ‘anti-Hindu’ in press meet in Tirupur

The Hindu Makkal Katchi head paid tributes to the Indian Revolutionary, Tirupur Kumaran on the 90th death anniversary and the party Chief while addressing the press called out on ruling party against the closure of temples ahead of Pongal in Tamil Nadu.

Tirupur: The Hindu Makkal Katchi head paid tributes to Tirupur Kumaran on Tuesday, on the 90th death anniversary and later, the party chief addressed the press.

“Will not there be an infection spread from Udhaynidhi Stalin’s meeting in Coimbatore? Why close temples?” questioned Arjun Sampath, the Hindu Makkal Katchi leader in a press address asked on Tuesday in Tirupur.

He offered tribute and garlands to the Kumaran statue at Tirupur Kumaran Memorial near the railway station on the occasion of the 90th death anniversary of freedom fighter Tirupur Kumaran.

Addressing the press later, he expressed that it was a sin to destroy national leaders' identity and place statues of Karunanidhi and EVR. The Congress party, which is supposed to question this, is in alliance with the DMK. He demanded that the statues of Periyar and Anna erected near the Kumaran memorial should be removed immediately, as per the court order.

He also asked will the infection not spread through the meeting held in Coimbatore by Udhayanidhi Stalin or during Christmas or New Year, but by visiting the temple on Pongal? Arjun Sampath demanded that the government opens temples in villages and let in devotees with restrictions.

Accusing the ruling party of acting against the Hindu Community, anti-Hindu, he mentioned that WHO’s medical team has said that the full lockdown is the solution to fight the pandemic. He said, “The country will not endure if there is a full lockdown, and not just myself, but the CM also states so.”

With the TASMAC stores open and even special sales are in place, he demanded the opening of temples and said that the party will take on a peaceful demonstration in this regard.

The members from BJP, Naam Tamilar, Shiv Sena, Congress, and others paid respects commemorating Tirupur Kumaran, on Tuesday.
