District Collector inspected the 21 products and their quality, announced by the state government and checked if they are being provided to the beneficiaries.
Coimbatore: The District Collector personally inspected the ration shops in Coimbatore to find out whether the package containing the Pongal gift items of the state Government of Tamil Nadu is being distributed to the beneficiaries properly.
On behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu, a Pongal gift package containing 21 items is being distributed to ration card holders for Pongal. Tokens to receive the Pongal gift are issued to 10.78-lakh family card holders in Coimbatore.
Meanwhile, District Collector GS Sameeran conducted a surprise inspection at the Ramalinga Sowdeswari co-operative warehouse on Theppakulam Road in the Poomarket area of Coimbatore today.
As part of the inspection, he checked the 21 products announced by the government and whether they were being provided to the beneficiaries.
The quality of the products was also checked by the District Collector. He asked the public who at the ration shop, about the quality of the goods. He then instructed the staff to provide quality goods and ensure that all goods reach the public.
