Twenty-seven trains pass through Coimbatore Junction Railway Station per day. Seven trains leave from the Coimbatore Junction for other destinations, and hence the rail traffic was exempted from curfew. Thousands of passengers reached the Coimbatore railway station, from morning to night on Sunday. As local traffic was non operational, due to curfew, those who had reached the Coimbatore Junction were unable to reach their local destination.
