Coimbatore: The number of students between the age of 15 and 18 inoculated so far with the covid-19 vaccine is at 92,453 in the city after the state government commenced administration of vaccinations for the age group.
According to the health department, 92,453 teens between 15 and 18 years of age, have been inoculated in Coimbatore. The government introduced the covid-19 vaccine for the age group on the 3rd of January and the students are being administered since.
Special teams have been formed to visit schools and administer coronavirus vaccine for students. Besides, the RPSK Groups have also been carrying out vaccination process. Accordingly, 92,453 school children have been vaccinated in the last 6 days.
The Deputy Director of Health P Aruna stated, “Coimbatore district has 1.61-lakh school students between the ages of 15 and 18. The medical team is visiting schools and administering vaccination. Children who do not attend school are vaccinated in special camps and government hospitals. 92,453 students have been vaccinated with the vaccines in the district.”
