Public roam without mask, gather as crowds in the area on Sunday, violating curfew rules in Cheranmanagar in Coimbatore

The entire city has been confined to their houses due to the complete lockdown in the state due to increasing covid-19 cases, while, the public in Cheranmanagar have been violating all covid-19 guidelines without the fear of infection spread.

Coimbatore: The scene of public gathered in a place without masks, roaming in the streets in the vehicles in Cheranmanagar in Coimbatore is increasing the risk of infection spread.

The Government of Tamil Nadu is imposing various restrictions due to the spread of coronavirus and omicron virus infections. Night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am and a full lockdown on Sundays is in place in the state. However, most of the people in Cheranmanagar and surrounding residential areas from Vilankurichi Road in Coimbatore continue to violate the full curfew norms.

Public are seen roaming on the roads in two wheelers since morning, without masks, without any essential purpose. On the other hand, people are gathered in places without following social distancing and not wearing masks.

The vehicle movement was laid down for a while due to sun, in the afternoon. But, after 3 p.m., the public continued to commit their excesses as usual. The Cheranmanagar area is located at a short distance from the Peelamedu police station and the police surveillance is slightly low in the area. Many people who take advantage of this are acting negligently in violation of the infection norms.

It is essential for the public to follow the norms imposed by the Government, as they are taking various measures for the welfare of the people. It is rather an individual responsibility than just following the norms imposed by the government.

The corporation and police officials should conduct a thorough inspection and take measures including imposing penalties and vehicle seizures against the violators.

While major parts of Coimbatore city were deserted due to full curfew, vehicular traffic and movement of people are seen as usual in Cheranmanagar and surrounding areas located in the suburbs.
