The Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected the works carried out by frontline workers who test for coronavirus symptoms door to door in Corporation areas and subsequently insisted them on recording the details every day.
Coimbatore: The City Municipal Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected north zone in Coimbatore on Friday.
The Commissioner inspecting the works of frontline workers in the 28th ward office in north zone, Sarvanampatti, advised the field workers to visit 200 households every day to check for fever and other symptoms.
He later studied the construction of tar road in ward 31 at an estimated cost of Rs.42-lakh, The construction of the additional classroom buildings of Corporation Primary School at an estimated cost of Rs.56-lakh was also inspected.
The Commissioner later addressing the staff stated that, "The frontline workers should visit 200 households every day and carry out survey work. People with fever and cold symptoms should be identified. Further, the details of the test with the thermal scanner and pulse oximeter should be recorded in the covid-19 field study records.”
He insisted information of those who test positive for coronavirus must be shared immediately with the health officers and the Covid-19 Control Centre. He also advised the workers to wear masks and those who are not vaccinated should take their double jabs.
The public should be made aware of the outbreak. Cleaning hands frequently with disinfectant is a must. He mentioned that the field workers who are engaged in the flu survey should work for 8 hours daily.
Mohanasundari, Assistant Executive Engineer, Venkatachalam, Regional Health Officer Radhakrishanan, Health Inspector Loganathan and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
