Coimbatore: The TASMAC Employees State Union staged a protest in Coimbatore as part of the state-wide protest demanding job permanency, weekly off, and minimum salary.
A state-wide demonstration is being held in Coimbatore on Friday, on behalf of the TASMAC Employees State Federation to protest against the exemption of TASMAC employees from various laws as part of the state-wide agitation. The demonstration was held at Balasundaram Road here.
More than 50 people participated in the demonstration and raised slogans condemning the exemption of holidays from the National and Festival Holidays Act and exemption from the ESI medical scheme.
Slogans were raised during the agitation demanding minimum wages for employees, ensuring 8 hours of work, week off, and work permanence, curbing the exploitation of the labor of 26,000 employees, and preventing exemption of TASMAC workers from labor laws.
