More than 50 BJP activists from Coimbatore district, led by District Chief Nandakumar lined up near Ganesha temple near Gandhipuram signal, carrying candles in protest against the Congress-led Punjab Govt.
Coimbatore: BJP cadres and members of different Hindu organisations were ruffled on hearing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's programs in Punjab had to be cancelled during his visit to Punjab on Wednesday.
The functions were reportedly cancelled since various organizations and some parties in Punjab had gathered to protest against the Prime Minister.
More than 50 BJP activists from Coimbatore district, led by the District Chief Nandakumar lined up near the Ganesha temple near Gandhipuram signal, carrying candles and denouncing the Congress Government's lapse in matters related to the PM's security during his visit to Punjab.
"Punjab is ruled by Khalistan militants, not the Congress party," chanted the BJP protesters. They also performed a special puja at the Ganesha temple to pray for a long life for the Prime Minister.
