Coimbatore: Coimbatore court has sentenced a worker to double life imprisonment for killing a guard.
Raman (55) was from Nallampalayam near Ganapathy, Coimbatore. He had been working as a security guard at a godown owned by Nagaraj on Addis Road. On March 24, 2017, while Raman was on duty, Chandrasekaran (43) alias Chandran, a load lifter from Ettimadai, visited the security guard and asked for money to drink alcohol.

He then took the stone lying there and struck him on the head, disfiguring his face and killing Raman and then fled from there. Race Course police registered a case and arrested Chandrasekaran a year later. He was later produced in court and remanded in custody.
The case was taken up in the Coimbatore District High Court. Judgment of the case was delivered today and Judge Sakthivel sentenced Chandrasekaran to double life imprisonment, a fine of Rs.1,000 and a further three months in jail for failing to pay.
