The Integrated Command and Control Centre set up at the Corporation Kalaiarangam premises has now been converted as a Covid-19 War Room in an effort to tackle the spread of the virus in the city.
Coimbatore: The Integrated Command and Control Centre set up at the Corporation Kalaiarangam premises has now been converted as a Covid-19 War Room in order to curb the spread of the virus in the city.
The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara stated that the Integrated Command Centre for Covid-19 which was set up at the Corporation Auditorium premises in R S Puram has now been re-established as the Covid-19 War Room.
"A computer-based Covid-19 War Room has been set up in Coimbatore to curb and monitor the virus spread in the city.A call centre has also been established at the Centre to enable the public to make their queries and seek help regarding the Coronavirus. A team consisting of 15 computer operators, 5 technical consulting staff and adoctor will be working in three shifts for this purpose,” added the CCMC Commissioner.
Immediate, suitable medical advice will be given to the affected persons by contacting them and their health conditions will be assessed. The daily Corona infection information is uploaded promptly and monitored through a video wall that is set up at this control centre.
Further, surveillance cameras have been installed at the Corona Centres which will be monitored in this control room regularly. Measures to inform the public about medical camps, vaccination centres and triage centres through telephone calls have been made. Appropriate medical advice and psychological counselling will also be provided to the affected persons and those in home isolation.
A door-to-door inspection, Covid tests in all 100 wards of the Corporation are being carried out by 500 field workers. Similarly, 1000 field workers have been appointed and are working on dengue mosquito control measures by door-to-door inspections. The CCMC Commissioner stated that information and doubts on Covid infections are being cleared with the public through this control centre round the clock.
