The city police are on the probe for the person in connection with the murder of two women in Udumalai after recovering their bodies near canal.
Tirupur: The city police are on the lookout for the person in connection with the murder of two women in Udumalai after recovering their bodies dumped near canal.
The Kaniyur Police recovered corpses of two women in their 40s near the branch water channel in Tirupur. The two bodies were found about a kilometre apart, with certain injuries. The bodies have been sent to the Coimbatore GH for post mortem.
Police stated, “A branch channel passes from the Amaravati New Ayacut irrigation canal in Natkalpalayam area near Mathukkulam in Tirupur. Two women in their 40s were found dead in a row, about a kilometre apart, with injuries.”
According to the police, a case of suspected death was registered first but further investigations were being conducted. One of the deceased was found dead with a tattoo ‘Nagaraj’ on her hand, with a wound on her forehead, was Kokilamani, (45), wife of Nagaraj of Indira Nagar, Udumalpet.
The other was Kirthana, (40), wife of Muthiah of Udumalpet SV Puram. The two were friends and met another man at Kokilamani’s house. It is speculated that the man would have killed both Kokila and Kirthana in a dispute. He later dumped the corpses near the Amaravati branch channel in Karatholuvu.
The police initially registered a mysterious death and have now registered into a murder case. The police are looking for the murderer.
The incident has created fear among the public in the area.
