Coimbatore: Highways road workers on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Highways Road Maintenance Employees' Union wore a black band over their eyes, and protested in front of the Highways Department Divisional Engineer's Office on Dharapuram Alangiyam Road in Tirupur district.
They put across various demands including publishing the senior list of Dharapuram Divisional Road Workers, follow the rules of Civil Servants, publish the list the Divisional Masters List on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Highway Road Maintenance Employees' Association. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of the list of Divisional Masters published outside the Civil Servants Regulation and the Divisional Engineer who prepared the false Masters List. Protestors condemned the administration and the protest was led by J Peeta Divisional Chairman and was attended by a large number of Tamil Nadu Highway Road Maintenance workers.
