Coimbatore: The Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC) along with Robert Bosch has joined forces to improve infrastructure facilities at the Juvenile Delinquents Observation Home at the Lakshmi Mills junction in Coimbatore. A CSR Funding of ₹ 12,25,000 has been sanctioned for the cause.
The press release stated that the project was taken up with the guidance of the Coimbatore Collector G S Sameeran. The CSR team of Robert Bosch along with the Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore will initially improve the infrastructure at the Juvenile Delinquents Observation home in the initial phase.
“As part of the awareness creation, RAAC has taken up this project with guidance from our District Collector G S Sameeran. RAAC undertook the reconnaissance survey along with the CSR Team of Robert Bosch for the Observation Home at Coimbatore. The Juvenile Delinquents Observation Home at Lakshmi Mills Junction was started in 1938 by the British Government. The Home comes under the care of District Child Protection Office as well as the Department of Social Defence.
RAAC along with Robert Bosch CSR will partner to bring about a radical transformation here. The initial phase of this project will revolve around improving the infrastructure facilities. RAAC has got the CSR Funding for a sum of Rs. 12,25,000 and RAAC will develop the infrastructure facilities. It would also try to fulfill the vision of the District Collector G S Sameeran by employing teachers for conducting music classes, origami classes and board games, to unleash the hidden talents among the inmates.
Audio-visual equipment would also be installed to show them world cinema, and children's classics would also be screened. A world cinema expert would explain to them the moral behind the films. Such activities would keep them busy and shape them into responsible citizens,” stated the press release.
