The Former Deputy Speaker and Pollachi MLA has petitioned the Sub-Collector seeking permissions to let the street food vendors to continue running their shops after announcements to remove shops were made based on an individual’s case at the court
Pollachi: The Former Deputy Speaker and Pollachi MLA has sought the Sub-Collector Thakare Shubham Dnyandeorao’s permission to let the street food vendors to continue running their shops.
Over 500 street shops are operating in Pollachi New, Old Bus Stand, Bazaar, Thermutti, Raja Mill Road, Perumal Chetti Road etc., The vendors have been issued Identity cards by the Pollachi administration and the Hawkers Welfare Board have also been formed to encourage the small-scale traders. Bank loans have also been facilitated with instalment of rupees 10,000 to rupees 20,000.
The vendors have also been paying the monthly instalments regularly. Reportedly, the vendors have been urged to remove shops after a case was filed in the court by an individual. Announcements were made through loudspeakers on behalf of Pollachi Municipality.

President Krishnakumar, District Representative Arunachalam, District Student Secretary Jomsraja, City Treasurer Vadugai Kanaku, Veerasamy, Neelakandan, Raghupathi, PRK Guru, Martin and others were present.
