The Thadagam police have booked social activists and the brick kiln owners under various sections based on complaints from both parties over videotaping brick kilns in the Thadagam area.
Coimbatore: The Thadagam police have booked social activists and the brick kiln owners under various sections based on complaints from both parties over videotaping brick kilns in the Thadagam area.
The dispute arose between brick kiln owners, supporters after four activists took video of the brick kiln sites in Thadagam on Sunday with drone cameras. The Thadagam Police rushed to the spot, upon information as the argument turned into a brawl.
The activists were taken to the police station, while the brick kiln owners gathered in front of the station demanding appropriate action against the activists. The crowd dispersed after the cops promised of proper investigation.
Subsequently, complaints were received from both sides.
Seven brick kiln owners, supporters have been booked viz., VKV Sundararaj, Parasuram, Ganesan, Prabhakaran, Maruthaiyan, Jeevanandam, Sudhapriyan) under 5 sections (147, 323, 427, 506/2, 379) based on the activist's complaint and four persons including Activists Ganesan, Mohan, and Dr. Ramesh have been booked under sections 447, 294b, 506/2 and 324 on a complaint filed by the brick kiln owners.
Investigations are being carried out based on the complaints registered.
