Coimbatore: The inauguration ceremony of the Tamil Nadu Dravidar Kazhagam was held at the Corporation Kalaiarangam in the RS Puram area.
Led by the President of the Tamil Nadu Dravidar Kazhagam, Kasi Nagarajan, the members joined in the presence of Suba Veerapandian, the founder of the Dravida Iyakka Tamilar Peravai.
Tamil Nadu Electricity Prohibition and Excise Minister Senthil Balaji, former Minister Kannabhan and many others addressed the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Suba Veerapandian said, "This movement is not an extremist movement but an enlightenment movement. From this moment onwards, Nagarajan is being announced as the State Organizing Secretary of the Dravida Iyakka Tamilar Peravai. The Dravidian movement has had ideological opponents. In the first week of February, we will hold massive protests in four cities, namely Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy and Madurai, against NEET." She said that everyone should participate in this.
Speaking later, Minister Senthil Balaji said, “I see three generations on this platform. Some are misleading the youth and we are emphasising that you should come forward to unite the youth. Coimbatore has been portrayed in the past as belonging to only a few, so why should people submit more than a lakh petitions to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has given Coimbatore a special place in his heart. MoUs have been signed in Coimbatore next to Chennai. The Chief Minister is creating a new position called Made in Tamil Nadu.”
Everyone who attended the event was presented with a yellow bag.
