Police interrogation revealed that the money and jewellery the duo had taken from the house had been snatched away by unidentified men and they had no money. The Karumbukkadai police are investigating the chain of events.
Coimbatore: A 14-year-old 9th class student in Podanur area of Coimbatore and one of his friends, an 8th standard student from the same area went missing.
Their parents searched for them in multiple locations and couldn't find them. It was reported that Rs.21-lakh cash and 22-sovereign jewellery, that was kept in one of the boy's homes went missing.
It raised suspicion that the jewellery might have been taken by the boys. Police registered a case and a hunt for the boys was launched. The boys were traced down in Trichy. The police immediately rushed to the location, arrested the two boys and brought them to Coimbatore.
