Against the spread of coronavirus infection, Coimbatore District administration informed that legal action will be taken against violators, while celebrating New Year.
Coimbatore: English New Year celebrations in the Coimbatore district will generally be held on the night of 31.12.2021 in public places such as roads, parks, privately owned restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, etc. Due to the risk of infection, in the Coimbatore district the public is urged to refrain from participating in English New Year celebrations. The spread is likely to increase as the crowd gathers and celebrates the New Year, which is currently under control.
Further control of the disease is needed in the context of the current recurrence of the coronavirus virus infection by people who have come from abroad. Therefore, it is informed that restaurants, hotels, entertainment halls and other places in Coimbatore district are not allowed to celebrate the 2022 English New Year celebrations on the night of 31. 12. 2021. The public is therefore requested to cooperate with the Coimbatore District Administration. Violators of the above measures will be prosecuted under the Disaster Management Act 2005.
