Hari Pavithran lodged a complaint at the police station after jewellery, money and cellphone were stolen. Police have registered a case and are checking surveillance camera footage on the side of the railway track.
Coimbatore: 5 sovereign jewellery and money stolen from a dentist in Coimbatore. The incident occurred when Hari Pavithran, (35), a dentist from Thaneerpandal, Peelamedu, Coimbatore was on his way home from his hospital in RS Puram.
The doctor went to answer natures call on the way to Syrian Church Road, on the side of the railway track. Just then, 3 people who were hiding in a dark stopped the vehicle extorted money from the dentist. They asked for jewellery. When the doctor refused, the three men snatched 5 sovereigns of jewellery, Rs 3,500 in cash, ATM cards and a cellphone from Hari Pavithran. They intimidated him to remove his clothes. The gang fled from there and threw his clothes several feet away.
