The flight, which operates all days of the week on behalf of Air Arabia, currently, operates full to its capacity. Due to the large number of passengers, on board, it is not possible to carry more than one ton of cargo each time.
Airport sources said, “The daily flight from Coimbatore airport to Sharjah can carry 168 people. Amid the spread of the Omicron virus, the aircraft operates daily with 160 passengers. Everyone coming from abroad is subject to compulsory isolation. Hospital treatment is arranged for those who have symptoms including fever and runny nose. The aircraft usually carries 3-tons of cargo each time. At present only 2-tons of cargo is transported time due to the large number of passengers. This has made it impossible to book an additional 30-tons of cargo per month."
