Coimbatore: The private workplace files, set up by 78 industrialists near Coimbatore, have been waiting for more than three months for DTCP approval in Chennai.
The continuing delay has caused great dissatisfaction among the industry. The delay has also hindered the start of 78 companies and the 'COSIMA' industrial estate. Once operational, 5,000 will be employed in this cluster.
'COSIMA' Industrial Estate, Executive Director, S. Surulivel said, "42-acres of land was purchased in the Solavampalayam area near Kinathukadavu for an expansion project on behalf of 78 entrepreneurs operating at the Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate and work was underway to set up an industrial estate under the name 'COSIMA' Industrial Estate.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has allocated Rs. 9-crore for infrastructure development works in the region. Files have been pending for more than three months in Chennai, with the approval of the local planning board and DTCP approval in Chennai. With this approval, 78 companies are ready to start construction facilities immediately. When all the businesses start operating, 5,000 new jobs will be created.
The government has been providing assistance for the development of the industry in Tamil Nadu. However, for the last three months waiting for the approval of the DTCP files in Chennai has caused great pain among the industry. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu should intervene in this matter and take action to get the DTCP approval for the project as soon as possible. This will be very beneficial not only for the industrialists but also for the workers.
