Coimbatore: A speeding truck collided with a government bus near Sirumugai this morning leaving seven persons severely injured. Investigation is underway.
A government bus that was headed to Sathyamangalam from Mettupalayam this morning was hit by a speeding truck near Alangombu near Sirumugai. A goods truck carrying coal from Thoothukudi collided with the bus in which the vehicle overturned upside down.
Seven passengers in the bus were injured and were taken to the Mettupalayam GH. The alert public immediately responded in rescuing the victims and informing the Sirumugai police station. Injured were rushed to hospital in ambulances.
The Sirumugai police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
