Headmistress booked for abusing students using caste slur in Tirupur

A case has been registered against the headmistress under the Prevention of Torture Act for insulting school children in using caste names.


Tirupur: Geetha, the headmistress of Tirupur District Iduwai Government High School, is sacked following a complaint by students that she had insulted students belonging to the Scheduled Castes by asking them to clean the toilets and insulting them in the name of caste.

The Mangalam police have registered a case against the headmistress Geetha under the Prevention of Torture Act following a complaint lodged by Saravanakumar, a member of the Adi Dravidar Welfare Awareness and Monitoring Committee of the Tirupur District.
