Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation Limited (TNFDC) intensifies work to release 3 lakh new fish - Katla, Roku and Mirgal at Aliyar Dam.
Coimbatore: On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation Limited (TNFDC), it is proposed to release 3 lakh new fry - Katla, Roku and Mirgal - from the Aliyar Fish Rearing Farm into the Aliyar Dam for breeding. Accordingly work is currently underway to release the fish as planned.
Accordingly, Coimbatore Sales Division Manager Jyoti Kumar said that the fish were released into the Aliyar Dam in the presence of Aliyar Fish Development Corporation Manager Masilamani. In this regard, Sales Division Manager Jyotikumar said that due to the continuous rains, the water level of the Aliyar Dam continues to rise and the work of releasing 3 lakh fish has started. With this, more fish will be available during the breeding season, he said.
