The incident of a woman who was dragged and crushed to death in Coimbatore after she stumbled and fell below the rear wheel of the truck has traumatized people.
Coimbatore: A woman was squidged to death after she was stuck under the rear wheel of a truck in Coimbatore.
Savita, (40), wife of Rathinasamy, resident of Kumarapalayam near Madhukarai is a typist by profession. Savita who was on a two-wheeler to work last morning stumbled and fell on the road after a truck rubbed against the vehicle near Madhukkarai. In the blink of the moment, the rear wheel of the truck mounted on her, and she was squidged to death on spot.
Reportedly Savita was dragged for about 50 meters, under the tire. Receiving information, the Madhukkarai police rushed to the accident spot. The deceased’s body was recovered and sent to Coimbatore government hospital for post mortem. Madhukkarai police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
