The MDMK Secretary of Peelamedu area submitted a petition to the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner seeking repair of the rainwater drains in ward areas 32 and 37 in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: A plea has been made with the District Corporation Commissioner regarding the repair of rainwater drainages in certain areas in Coimbatore.
The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) Secretary of the Peelamedu area, Velliyangiri submitted a petition to the Corporation Commissioner Rajagopal Sunkara, seeking restoration of rainwater drain in Ward 32 and 37 of Coimbatore Corporation.
In his petition, the Secretary stated that rainwater has been logging in Udaya Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Sakthi Vinayaka Nagar, Chinnaiya Nagar, Jeeva Nagar, and Teachers Colony in Ward 32 of Coimbatore Corporation and the rainwater drains remain faulty. Similarly, the soil has accumulated in the rainwater drain, from Tidal Park Railway Gate to Avinashi Road in Ward 37. He thus urged the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner to take steps to restore the drains in these areas.
