The incident occurred at a private hospital in Mission Compound in Kotagiri on Tuesday.
The Nilgiris: Even as wildlife movement has been on the increase in Nilgiris district, a bear strolled into a private hospital in the Mission Compound area in Kotagiri on Tuesday leaving patients panic-stricken.
Hospital staff and patients ran amok screaming in fear causing the bear to run and hide in a tea plantation nearby.
The bear reportedly returned to the hospital in the evening causing more fear among locals.
