Tirupur: In Udumalaipettai, the 113th birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna, the leader of the Dravidian movement who gave voice to the rights of Tamil Nadu and was instrumental in the formation of the DMK was celebrated.
Former DMK MLA Jayaramakrishnan paid homage to Perarignar Anna's statue near the bus stand in Udumalaipettai on Thursday. The event was also attended by over 100 DMK workers, including City Secretary Madheen and Union Secretaries Selvaraj, Shyam Eswaran and Zakul Hammedand Giri.

Following this, the AIADMK cadres also paid homage to the statue of Perarignar Anna by garlanding it. The event was chaired by City Secretary Hakeem and MDMK also paid their respects by presenting a garland.
