Coimbatore: Environmentalists who visited the Krishnampathy Lake in Coimbatore on Monday was probed by the Forest Department after a video of a baby snake put to torture went viral.
Krishnampathy Lake is a calm, green lush place located north of the Noyyal River, Coimbatore. Most wildlife photographers visit the place for the sceneries. A similar group that visited the lake on Monday caught hold of a baby snake and put it through mild torture in order to take photographs of it. One of the members posted a video online in which the reptile is seen to be carried and placed in different places and troubled.
Upon watching the video, the forest department summoned the environmentalists and warned them to not cause such trouble to the wildlife
