Assistant Town Planning Officer removes 8 huts and fences in encroached land and restores it back to the Corporation.
Coimbatore: 66 cents of landencroached in ward 35, Periyar Nagar, Kalapatti in Coimbatore was recovered by the Coimbatore Corporation on Tuesday.
The land was allotted for the construction of a community hall in the area. A few years back, the land was sold to around 10 people with fake documents, with the knowledge of Kalapatti Government officers.
CCMC Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara ordered an immediate inspection and the Assistant Town Planning Officer, Bhuvaneshwari inspected the area based on complaints. Eight huts and fences around the plot were removed and a notice board was placed on behalf of the Corporation.

“The encroached land was recovered and a notice board has been put up for the public,” stated an official.
