Coimbatore: A 'Legal Awareness' seminar for women is being held across Valparai in Coimbatore district on the orders of the District Superintendent of Police, S Selvanagarathinam.
As part of this, a 'Legal Awareness' seminar for girls was held at the Sacred Heart Girls Higher Secondary School, under the leadership of the Valparai Police Inspector, Karpagam.

Inspector Karpagam urged students to come forward in the fight against female infanticide. "You also need to report sexual harassment to the police. Dowry is cruel and the police have notified the SOS Police App to report information on sexual harassment and abuse too. All women should download this app and keep it handy on their phones. We also request women and girls everywhere to use the emergency number 181 and the toll free number 1098," she urged.

Sub-Inspector Karthikeyan, Principal Sister Monica and over a 100 students attended the seminar.
