Marxist Communist State Secretary lauds NEET cancellation bill in TN Assembly

Mega Vaccine Scheme, lease of public sector were also discussed at the media briefing by the Marxist Communist State Secretary

Tirupur: Marxist Communist State Secretary, K Balakrishnan briefed the media in Tirupur and lauded the humungous effort of the Tamil Nadu Government in administering 28 lakh vaccines on a single day.

The Marxist Communist State Secretary also stated that the Union Government should provide sufficient vaccines to the State. In response to the Bill passed on Monday in the Assembly on the cancellation of NEET, he said that the Central Government has to look into the issue much more seriously as lives are being lost due to the pressure of the NEET exam. Further, he stated that H Raja’s comments on the issue of NEET was unsatisfactory.

He further stated, “The Government of India has announced a lease of public sector for an estimate of ₹.6.7 crore. This would completely shut down the public sector and would affect the employees largely. Plus, the arrangement will put the lives of over 40000 workers at stake. The Central and State Governments should intervene and find a solution. A nationwide general strike on September 27 in support of farmers has been planned. I invite all the parties in the State to join hands and form a league to oppose the Union Government.

We have planned to raise black flags on September 20 to show opposition. Further, the AIADMK government failed to exempt NEET during the last regime, but the past Government must have forgotten how the process works while passing the bill. However, the current DMK Government has taken efforts to cancel NEET in Tamil Nadu, which I believe they will succeed in,” he further added.
