2 child marriages stopped by authorities in Coimbatore as the last three days were continuously Muhurtham days.
Coimbatore: The last 3 days were auspicious Muhurtham days all over Tamil Nadu. So weddings are taking place in temples and halls. The child protection officer was informed sep 10 that a girl under the age of 18 was getting married. Authorities immediately went to the scene and stopped the two marriages.
The Coimbatore District Child Protection Office has received information that a 17-year-old girl, Babu, 23, is to be married near Coimbatore. On information, the child protection officers rushed there and stopped the marriage and advised the girl to get married only if she turns 18 years old. Similarly, on the information that another 17-year-old girl from the area was getting married, Child Protection Officer Shanthamani and the authorities rushed to the spot and rescued the girl and handed her over to the care home.
