The police who rushed to the incident negotiated with the protestors following which they dropped the protest
Speaking on the occasion, Anand, Hindu Munnani District Secretary said, "Vinayagar Chaturthi is celebrated following the coronavirus prevention guidance. Podanur police station Sub-inspector Thamarai Kannan spoke to Hindu Munnani leader obscenely in Sundarapuram, Podanur. As the government has given permission for the idols to be worshipped for three days, we strongly condemn it. The DMK government must drop these anti-Hindu activities. If no action is taken against the police officer concerned, protests will be held on behalf of the Hindu Munnani throughout Tamil Nadu."
