Coimbatore Corporation, Aram Charitable Trust, Robert Bosch join hands to help school students cope with mental health
Coimbatore: The Aram Foundation Charitable Trust, Robert Bosch Engineering Solution, CSR, along with Coimbatore Corporation, has launched a program for the mental well-being of students of 83 Corporation schools.
The "Tele Survey and Counseling" scheme will benefit more than 19,000 students of Corporation School and 10,000 students of Government Schools for the first time in Corporation Schools.
The educational institution faced numerous challenges during the pandemic with handling the education of students. The advent of Online classes was an unprecedented challenge for students, parents and the teachers. Lot faced with anxiety, stress. sorrow. economic stress, malnutrition problems. Abuse and rise in dropouts, child protection issues, and children's mental health problems increased.
The new scheme will survey and help identify such issues and link them to suitable sources and provide the necessary help. The foundation consists of psychologists, psychiatrists, promoters, and doctors. The main objective of the scheme is to express the confidence of children, increase their potential and prevent gap in studies.
The Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Mr. Raja Gopal Sunkara, IAS, Coimbatore CSR Project Chairman (Reby) Mr. Beseel Johnson was present on the occasion. Michael Raj, CEO Coimbatore Corporation, Administrative Trustee Lata Sundaram andGokulraj J, Aram Foundation Charitable Trust founder was present.
