Idol immersed in a nearby lake of the temple

Valparai: The Government of Tamil Nadu imposed ban on public celebration of the Vinayagar Chathurti festival in view of the increasing covid cases.

Following that, Hindu Munnani members in Valparai Nadumalai lake carried the Ganesh Idol and immersed it in a lake in a low-key manner.

Valparai Inspector of Police Karpagam, Sub-Inspector Karthikeyan, was present for security purposes and the procession was monitored by Tahsildar Raja.

Valparai fire service and municipal employees were on guard in the river during the ritual.
