After a puja conducted in the temple, the priests locked behind the temple and were taken by shock when they returned to a broken temple door. Two sovereigns of gold jewelry, including a gold chain, a gold coin, and nuptial chain were taken by the thieves.
A complaint was registered and the Singanallur police began their investigations. Three men were arrested out of suspicion near the Singanallur Bus Stand.
