Corporation Commissioner visits and inspects East Zone of Coimbatore

The CCMC Commissioner also inspected the treatment methods offered at Primary Health Centres in urban areas.


Coimbatore: The CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Raj Gopal Sunkara inspected the development work and sanitary works in the East Zone of Coimbatore.

He inspected the 56th ward Chandrakanthi Nagar's Health Inspector’s office and checked the attendance records of the workers. He advised the workers to always collect garbage separately and not let water stagnate in order to avoid mosquito-borne diseases. He instructed the workers to create adequate awareness among the public and also that every worker ought to wear masks while working. He advised the workers to sanitize themselves regularly and get vaccinations.



Subsequently, the Commissioner inspected ward No.32, Vilankurichi Health Centre and stated that mothers should be given proper care and treatment before and after delivery. After inspecting the registration and maintenance of the safety card, the outpatient register and the payment of insurance/scholarships under Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Scheme, he later checked the maintenance records and computer records. After reviewing the construction works at the center, he inspected the Vilankurichi Corporation Primary School and asked the engineering staff and teachers about the school's classrooms, electricity, drinking water and toilet facilities, and informed the staff who were working there to keep the interior and surroundings of the school clean.



The CCMC Commissioner also ordered a review of the infrastructure facilities and parameters of the building and instructed the workers to expedite the works. A new building will be constructed in the office of the Health Inspector of Municipal Engineers and Health Inspectors, at Vilankurichi area.

Corporation Health Officer Satish Kumar, Executive Engineer (East) Gnanavel, Eastern Region Assistant Commissioner Rangarajan, Assistant Executive Engineer Sundharaj, Regional Health Officer Murugan and Corporation officials were also present during the inspection.
