MSME’s Lagu Udyog Bharathi State Level Annual meeting held in Tirupur

Office bearers take charge, six-pillar committee formulates development plans


Tirupur: The State Level Annual meeting of Lagu Udyog Bharathi, an industry body for MSMEs at the national level, was held in Tirupur.

The meeting was chaired by the National President, Deputy Chairman and Secretary. The state and district executive members were announced and took charge at the meeting.

M S Vijayaraghavan, Coimbatore State Head, M Sivakumar, Joint General Secretary of the State, R Kalyan Sundaram, Deputy Chairman, State and C Subramaniam, S Ravichandran, Coimbatore District President M Sathyanarayanan, Secretary S Sathasivam, Treasurers Mallikadevi, Bharathi Arusamy, Venkatesh Srinivasan and Nalla Tambi took charge.

As the General Scretary of the State, V Jayakumar of Vizhupuram, State Treasurer P R Mohan and another state Joint Secretary from Chennai, Chezhiyan took charge. The District In-charges of Tamil Nadu have been announced.

An introductory meeting for the new office-bearers of Coimbatore was held today at the Sitco Stadium. Kumaragiri and Nallathambi took charge as Deputy Chairmen, Shanmugasundaram, Bharathi Aruswamy, Jayakanthan and twenty other Coimbatore executive committee members took charge as Joint Secretaries, respectively.

The meeting was chaired by the State President, Joint General Secretary of the State, State Vice President and State Secretary, District President, Secretary and the Treasurer. Former leaders and members of the advisory committee, S Surulivel, Nagarajan and Soundarrajan graced the function. Developmental schemes were formulated during the meeting.

A six-pillar committee had been established in Tamil Nadu for the first time in India, two years back. Two pillars for new membership and administrative and financial management, two pillars to collect and attend to the demands and issues of the members, and two pillars to be taken to the State Government and facilitate requirements, expanding and advising entrepreneurs and their officers and workers. Several programs were held and a plan has been formulated to re-run the administrative fronts and help in industrial development.

Additionally, a special cell for micro industries has been set upon the advice of National Secretary and MSME member of the GOI, Mohanasundaram during the executive meeting held in Tirupur. The Committee of the Government of Tamil Nadu under the chairmanship of Sundaradevan for the MSMEs, put forth various demands on behalf of the industry to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

“We have submitted a memorandum to Sundaradevan to take up the matter with the Chief Minister, Ministers and officials of the department. At the recent assembly meeting, a grant demand announcement was made for Coimbatore Cosima Industrial Park at Sozhavampalayam village in Kinathukadavu taluk of Coimbatore district.”

M Sivakumar, State Joint Secretary briefed the media on all aspects and also shared that the project cost was Rs.18.13 crore. The members also thanked Chief Minister, M K Stalin, Ministers and officials of the department for encouraging entrepreneurs and facilitating schemes to improve the livelihood of 1000 workers and construction of a private industrial estate with a grant of 9.06 crore.
