CJB Director releases information on number of flights operated in August.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore International Airport is witnessing a surge in passenger footfall and flight movements, post the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown of services.
CJB officials state that there is a huge increase in terms of domestic and international passengers, with nearly one lakh passengers travelling in the month of August alone.
As per the reports shared by the Airport Director, S Senthil Valavan, 864 flights were operated with 98,817 passengers. 24 international flights departed with 2291 travellers, cargo transported was 107.102 tonnes, 840 domestic flight departures with 96, 526 passengers and cargo of 581.402 tonnes.
It is expected that the passenger and flight movements are likely to increase in the following days owing to the festival season ahead.
