Monisha sets world record for performing a unique Silambam swirl.
Coimbatore: Monisha Veerasamy, daughter of Veerasamy and Jayanthi, is a college student from Selakarasal area of Coimbatore who is also a Silambam student at Veeratthamizhan Silambam Training School in the same area.
Passionate about rural arts, Monisha stood for a whole 15 minutes on ice cubes on bended knees, sharp blades in her eyes, a fire pot on her head and all the while swirling a blazing Silambam stick in her hands. She was aiming to set a world record in the Silambam circuit which led her into performing the risky act.

Dr. Kanakaraj, Founding President of Veeratthamizhan Silambam Training School and a judge of the Arts and Culture Division and Dr. Kalaiyarasan, Founder of the RuralAcademy honoured the world record holder with medals and certificates.
