Three flight departures from Coimbatore International Airport every week has now been increased to four flights per week.
Coimbatore: Though innumerable passengers used to travel to Singapore, Sri Lanka and Sharjah from Coimbatore International Airport, the Covid-19 second wave brought down the frequency of airline services between Coimbatore and Sharjah.
Air Arabia alone was operated from Coimbatore to Sharjah. Three flight departures from Coimbatore International Airport every week has now been increased to four flights per week, according to airport authorities.
“The 'Air Arabia' flight between Coimbatore and Sharjah can accommodate 160 people. The plane carries more than 150 passengers each time. Besides, at least 2.5 ton cargo is transported on this flight every time. Items including vegetables, flowers and automobile components are transported on this flight. Service will now be provided four days a week from this September,” stated officials at the airport.
