“Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has announced various schemes that takes care of the construction and informal workers in the budget”
Coimbatore: The Joint Action Committee of all the industrial unions, Coimbatore district, thanked the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for announcing the objective of protecting the livelihood of construction and informal workers.
Murugesan, General Secretary Association of Construction and Informal Workers, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Tiruppur District Construction Workers Development Union General Secretary Krishnasamy, Union General Secretary Manoharan and Association President Chiranjeevi Kannan made a joint statement, “The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has announced various schemes that takes care of the construction and informal workers in the budget, through the joint petition to the Minister of labour and Employment, Ganesan and the Labours Welfare Association general secretary, Shanmugam MP.”
The announcement is as follows;
The education fund has been enhanced by the Welfare Board from Class VI to College and various announcements have been made to promote IT and polytechnic and institutional education, which has been pending for more than a decade.
The Chief Minister has announced an increase of fund for accidental death of an informal worker from one to two lakh and natural death fund has been increased to 50000.
The Chief Minister has executed what was not in the previous reign. More than 10 lakh workers across the state are likely to benefit from the online registration and renewal.
Around 50000 workers are to get their pensions and brought into effect the request of our federation to resume the cancellation in the last regime and continue from the day of registration and renewal.
On behalf of the workers, we thank the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Employment for their implementation of various special schemes, including construction facilities up to 27,000 sq.ft, simplifying lay-out separation and house building schemes for construction workers, so as to improve the status of the construction and informal workers.
