Coimbatore: The central bus terminal in Coimbatore was in mayhem for few hours today as court staff tried to seize the government bus between Salem-Coimbatore.
The Salem court had directed orders to seize the bus as the State transport corporation, Salem failed to provide compensation to an ex-employee Sivaraman of Coimbatore is a retired mechanic who worked for the State Transport Corporation.
On August 11, 2015, he traveled from Salem to Coimbatore by a government bus (TN 30 N 1379). Natarajan, the bus conductor denied the pass given to Sivaraman and threw him out of the bus. Dejected, Sivaram filed a complaint at the State Transport Corporation, Salem Division to which the management did not respond.
He filed a case in court. The judge directed Salem divisional State Transport corporation to pay Rs 10,000 as compensation. Sivaraman is yet to receive the compensation, three years after the judgment. The court ordered the confiscation of the government bus.

This morning, the court employees took steps to confiscate the Government Bus (TN 30 N 1585) between Coimbatore and Salem of Salem Division, which was at the Central Bus Stand in Coimbatore. The driver Manikandan and conductor Matheswaran argued with the court staff in protest. The court staff was unable to seize the bus.
The officials rushed to the Coimbatore court. The incident also ceased operation of the bus between Salem & Coimbatore.
