Coimbatore: The Prohibition Enforcement Wing and subdivisional police department raided busted 27 people for selling liquor illicitly and seized 130 bottles of alcohol in Coimbatore.
The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, Selvanagaratnam, directed orders to conduct a district-wide raid. Sub-inspector Murugan busted 2 men who were involved in a cockfight. Selvaraj and Nandakumar were arrested and 2 cocks and cash were seized in the Komangalam Locality.
Similarly, Vasanth, Dinesh, Mohammad, and Karti were arrested for selling banned lottery tickets and seized 3380 rupees and a mobile phone from the four. Sub- InspectorsDamodaran and Lenin were patrolling the areas under Mettupalayam and Sirumugai police station limitswhen they arrested them
