4th-year medical student went missing in the waters in Sedal Dam
Valparai: A 4th-year medical student who went missing in the waters on the 30th of August is still on the search. The fire and forest department are on a rescue mission, for the 7th consecutive day.
Sriram, 24, son of retired Police officer Ganesan was reported missing by his friends on the 30th of August while they went on a trip to Valparai. The friends reported that their friend was washed away in the waters while they were at a waterfall near the Sedal Dam.
Sekkal Police Department rushed to the spot and carried on investigations.
The fire Department looked for missing Sriram, which ended up in failure due to nightfall. The search continued on the 31st. 5 days of intense search ended up in vain. The forest department later continued the search using drone cameras.
A submariners team from Kerala is stationed as well.
The search team, volunteers continue to search for Sriram for the 7th consecutive day today.
Water flows from the Solaiyar dam to the Sedal dam when the former is full. Water flows through dense forests to hills and reaches the Parambigkulam Dam about 15 kilometers into the forest area.
The police and fire department are well aware of the flow of water from the Sedal dam and so are the Adivasi tribals. They are in search of Sriram through the routes.Rajkumar, Chellaiah, Rajamanickam, Ramesh, Ram, Sivakumar Mathilagan are searching for the body
Sriram's family and friends have urged the public to contact the Police on any information.
